Description of book: The series of images of No Such Place are all taken in Berlin. They show the city as a place that can be seen, experienced and recognized, with a clear identity, with characteristics and inhabitants. A place that is possible to describe and even visit if you wish, but on the other hand it denies that this place is actually here or there. It is no such thing or does not exist as such. What happened actually did happen, what is framed is not staged but together these images form or create a different space that did not seem to exist before and is made exist with the use of the camera. The moment space, locations, and the human presence within seem to merge has been the starting point for a visual investigation in the fiction of seeing. Objects, architecture, people and even the cities’ flora contribute to a representation of culture and the construction of its identity.
