The Epic Love Story of a Warrior

Self Publish, Be Happy and C/O Berlin invited the public to partake in a performance by Peter Puklus, The Epic Love Story of a Warrior. Peter began to dream up an ambitious book project that would aim to present a re-imagining of the historical narrative of Europe in the 20th Century, fictionalized through constructed pictures. Intuitively sketching compositions and testing ideas, Puklus works in the studio in an organic manner to create his projects. For one weekend, Peter worked from Self Publish, Be Happy’s studio in Berlin, setting up pictures for this project live.
Somewhere between a casting, a shoot and a performance, the event gave spectators the chance to witness the working practice of an artist embarking upon a big new project, as well as be invited to feature in the pictures themselves. Through a schedule released throughout the entire weekend via a facebook page, visitors came by to partake in any part of the performance. From couples kissing to 3 generations of a family together in the same room, the call for participants covered a variety of intriguing requests. The entire event was documented and displayed in a set of pictures.
