This book is the result of my attempt to get to know the area where I live and to overcome my fear
of approaching and photographing strangers.I wandered around my house forcing myself to come up to people, and asking for permission to
take picture of them. Often I had to keep up a polite conversation or even listen to peoples’ long stories
about their life. I felt creepy because of straightforwardness of these stories, sudden closeness of absolute
strangers.I photographed everything that attracted my attention – objects, places, shop-windows…
Then I tried to make pairs out of images, interconnected visually or due to my emotional
perception. I outlined the borders of this area on a map with a red rectangle. All these people and spots
are included in it. And now there’s nothing easier than to point at this map and say – this is where I live.
